2004  European Bench Press & Powerlifting Championships
Date: June 26th & 27th  
Venue: Buckley Sports Centre, Buckley, Flintshire, North Wales.

The British Powerlifting Organisation are pleased to invite you to nominate athletes to represent your country in the above championships. To enter, they have to complete the enclosed entry form(s) for the above. They are eligible to enter either or both championships by submitting the appropriate entry form(s) and fee(s), to reach the British Powerlifting Organisation before the entry closing date of 26th May 2004. Due to the immense organisational arrangements,  late entries will be returned, out of time.

Athletes from non affiliated to WPF countries, are eligible to enter, but they are obliged to pay an additional entry fee of  £7 ( Seven Pounds). Please make this payment with your entry fee, which will be passed on to the WPF.

The WPF rule for nations, that two competitors per body-weight class in each of the age classes has been waived for these championships. Please remember that in entering your bodyweight class, the rule is specific; "That you can move up one class only if you are overweight however, you are not eligible to move down a bodyweight class".

Enclosed are details on accommodation facilities in the location of the championships for your information. It will be your responsibility to make your own reservations and settle your own accommodation accounts.

Due to the high number of Spectators expected to attend, it has been decided that, Spectator entry will be at £8 per person, covering the whole two days.  The daily entrance fee will be at £5 per person over the age of 16.  This is due to maximum persons allowed in the venue, Due to fire regulations, the Promoter reserves the right to limit the number of spectators.

Also, enclosed is a DRAFT Schedule of the Programme of Events. This may well vary according to the number of actual athlete entrants. These details may change, dependant on the number of entries. You will be notified of any changes after the entry closing date.

Those athletes having a COACH are fully responsible for making them aware of dress code and that NO liability whatsoever, shall be incurred on behalf of  the Promoter, WPF, EPC, BPO, its Officers, Officials or Agents in any circumstances in the event of any accident or injury sustained. They take it upon themselves their participation and activity. Coaches are not exempt from paying entry into the championships.

You are strongly advised to make yourself and all your athletes  familiar with the WPF rules. Any queries that you may have to your lifting attire, please present them to the Contest Officials at the Weighing-in.

WEIGH-IN  - At the weigh-in,  it is a requirement for all athletes to produce proof of age at entry in all age categories except the open class, either with you passport or driving licence with photo.

REFEREES - Would you please provide me with the names of all your Referees for duties at the above championships before 26th May 2004.

Each Affiliated Federation can nominate 6 Powerlifters, with 1 reserve and 6 Bench Pressers, with one reserve for the WPF Powerlifting and Bench Press Team Titles. All nominated names must be with the Technical Officer before the close of weigh-in on the enclosed forms.

Buckley, Flintshire,  North Wales is situated about 10 miles west of the city of Chester, 3 miles east of Wrexham.
